2022 Weddings Part 1

What a fantastic year 2022 was, in so many ways! It was my busiest so far. I photographed at one of my dream venues whilst 38 weeks pregnant. Then I became a Mummy in the Spring! That meant I had limited the number of weddings I did just before and after I gave birth. Then was straight back to it in the Summer as I wanted to honour the bookings I already had. Some of these weddings were booked a couple of years in advance and were again postponed due to Covid.

Similar to what I did at the start of last year I thought I’d write another blog showing the highlights! I thought 2021 was busy for weddings, turns out 2022 was even busier! So grab a cuppa and enjoy looking through the stunning weddings I had the pleasure of documenting.

Emma & Matt ‘s wedding at the Kettering Park Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire was my first wedding of the year. Their fun, vibrant wedding was a pleasure to capture. With an epic dance floor and some of the best wedding details I’ve seen. Personalised leather jacket, colourful confetti, flowers and cake, an epic dance floor with glow sticks and light up glasses. It was a great celebration to start off the year.

Gemma & Jack had a Harry Potter themed wedding at the Granary at Fawsley and it was magical! The attention to detail, the traditions and a celebrant led ceremony were beautiful to witness and photograph. The Granary is definitely one of my favourite barn venues to photograph at. I had to include images of the amazing styling from Pink Peony Weddings as the details Kelly included were incredible.

Zoe & David’s wedding was in April and oh my goodness what a stunning venue! Kilworth House is one of my dream venues with the orangery being the standout part of the venue. The perfect backdrop for confetti and couple portraits. The ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception all took place within the orangery. The music was beautiful with live pianist James Roscoe playing piano versions of Disney classics and other recognisable film music.

After a short break between the rest of April and May, I captured my first wedding back after having our baby girl at the start of June. It was Joanne & Simon’s wedding day, in the Cotswolds. They had their ceremony in the stunning church within Burford, followed by a reception at the Bay Tree also in Burford. The town was picturesque and we found a nearby poppy field after the ceremony. Their first dance was one of the most energetic I’ve seen so far, it was so much fun!

Next up, Jess and Luka’s wedding at the wonderful Crockwell Farm -definitely another one of my favourites. This was a much smaller, more intimate wedding on a weekday, which made a nice change to the usual Friday/Saturday wedding. They had an outdoor ceremony which was super special and the gardens were stunning, especially in June. Also there were a couple of Labradors that live on the farm who were around during the wedding day! I love a dog at a wedding!

Alice & George married at the church in Elton, Peterborough followed by their family farm. It was one of the larger weddings I’ve photographed and included a tractor ride for the couple from the church to the reception venue. They had a huge marque on the farm and kept everyone dry when the rain began halfway through the day!

Charlene & Stuart were recommended my work from a family friend who I have known for years. I’ve never seen such a happy bride, she was smiling throughout the day, through the morning nerves – almost every couple has them – to the first dance. Their wedding took place at fab The Walnut Tree Inn in Blisworth, Northamptonshire.

Stratford-upon-Avon was the location for my next wedding, for Lara & Vinny. This was their Church ceremony and reception for Lara’s family. They then went onto having a wedding blessing at another venue for Vinny’s side of the family and their religious traditions. Their beloved dog Django was a big part of their wedding reception. Loved his bow tie!

Courtney & Joe’s wedding was on one of the hottest days of the year, during one of the heatwaves in 2022! It was a bright sunny day at the characteristic Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel in Birmingham. They had a much more relaxed wedding and wanted a smaller part of the day to be documented. The interior of the 17th Century building was beautiful to photograph so we made the most of that during the day.

Amy & Martin chose the amazing Bordesley Park in Worcestershire for their wedding in August. It was a warm summer wedding day with some fantastic music from saxophonist Slav on Sax. It felt like we were in Ibiza or somewhere abroad, with everyone dancing outside whilst he played. Amy so sadly passed away a couple of months after their wedding day, as she had been suffering with her health for a while. It was truly an honour to capture her on her wedding day, with the photographs meaning more than anything to her friends and family.

There is so much content to share that I will leave it here for now. I’ll share more in a separate blog post for part 2 of 2022. Then more details from these weddings in various blog posts for inspiration for your own wedding planning.
